8.5 days and counting until Melissa Etheridge comes back to Phoenix! As I mentioned in a previous post, thanks to Cynthia for being such a great pal and going with me. I love, love, love seeing Melissa play live. She is an amazing live performer and quite underrated. Like her idol, Bruce, she thrives on the energy her fans give her during a show. Melissa puts in her all at each show and makes it worth every $ you spent on her. I believe that she is the only musician that I have consistently seen each time she hits town and each time puts on a totally different show. I am even more excited that this is the last tour stop on her summer tour, so you know she is going to kick even bigger rock ass!

Melissa is riding a second wave of popularity since her Grammy showstopper of Piece of My Heart with Joss Stone. Not only is she an awesome musician but has become a great little activist. The last two original tunes she has penned "I Run For Life" and "I Need To Wake Up" have been fundraisers for Breast Cancer and Environmental awareness, respectively. The latter even appearing at the closing credits of the hottest independent film of the summer "An Inconveniet Truth." If you aren't a fan of hers, I do urge you to give her another crack.

Thank God the summer tv season is rapidly coming to an end. With a box office that was so lackluster I was hoping I could lean on some good summer trash to get me through...WRONG! With the exception of a few gems; Project Runway (of course), Kathy Griffin, Entourage... I have been bored, bored bored.

I have had just a flicker of relief with the abundance of blogs regarding the upcoming fall season. I am so excited that one of my favorite shows of last season is one of the first to debut in 2 weeks! If you haven't caught Prison Break, I highly recommend it. The story is superb and the actors are not only hot to look at (only 2 prison boys and the one girl) but great acting. My list of top shows this fall are: Grey's Anatomy (cannot wait!!!), House, Lost and Amazing Race. The new shows of top interest are: Studio 60, Brothers & Sisters, 30 Rock and there are quite a few that look promising too. I don't want to get too attached to one of these shows right off the bat, because it will be doomed to fail. I am the jinx for all well written and acted shows. Everwood anyone?!?!

So the countdown begins...

Ha ha! The evil Keith is oooooouuuuutt. Do you like my handy photoshopping skills to the left? What a scandalous episode. As they say, cheater's never prosper. I am so happy he is gone...I couldn't stand him any longer. I was thrilled, however, that Angela made such a dramatic comeback! Good for her. I loved her rosette buttons, way to make her team work for her.

Here is my list:

1. Finished reading “Catch a Wave” (a biography on the rise, fall and redemption of Beach Boy Brian Wilson). Fascinating, informative and finished in four days! And of course, I was downloading all things Beach Boys.

2. Picked back up with “Confederacy of Dunces”, I’m at pg. 60 but I have 14 days to finish.

3. Trying to learn Photoshop which is quite an undertaking. I have finally figured out the whole layers thing!

4. Favorite new tune: JT’s Sexy Back. Very different and enjoyable.

5. Going to see my Melissa live at Dodge in August (thanks to Cynthia for being a good pal!).
